11th Kakusei Tournament: O Rissei, making
his first appearance in this knockout tournament,
defeated Cho Chikun, Kato, and Yamashiro to
reach the final. His opponent was Hashimoto
Shoji, who defeated Fujisawa Shuko, Kobayashi
Koichi, and Ishida Yoshio. The playoff between
the two, telecast on 20 March, was won by O Rissei.
