Tea Vendors

Teas I've had. I'd been drinking tea for many years when I finally
	started this list.
	- White
		- Peet's Hubei Silver Tip. A very light tea. Nice-ish. But
I'm quite impressed with Peet's for having a white tea at all.
- Silver Tip. Very nice, but I suspect it gives me a headache
if I drink it regularly enough. The leaves are very bright
			colored after steeping, almost aqua.
- That White tea from Wing Hop Fung. I'm afraid I don't know
the variety. It's another very light tasting white tea. Not
			spectacular.
- Green
		- Specialteas' Fine Sencha. This used to be my favorite tea, but I
somehow seem to have lost my taste for it, or maybe just my ability
			to brew it correctly.
- Foojoy Lung Ching in the large metal tin. A very enjoyable
			Lung Ching, but Ranch 99
(local Asian market) doesn't carry it anymore.
- Specialteas' Fine Lung Ching is different from usual lately, and
very, very good instead of just very good. It's a lighter taste -
reminds me of a white tea almost, but a more satisfying taste than
			that.
- Foojoy Before the Rain Tippy Green. I really liked this tea a
lot when I first started drinking it, but I've come to feel that
it's a bit plain tasting, even if I don't have it for a while and
come back to it. But perhaps it just isn't fresh enough
			anymore
- Specialteas Spring Blossom Pekoe. I don't remember a thing
about this tea. I'll have to try it again. :)
- Foojoy Huang Mtn. Tippy Green. A tea. It's decent.
- Foojoy Pi Lo Chun. Nice. Is this a White tea?
- Maeda En Sencha. I believe they have a variety of senchas. I
used to get a Fukamushi Sencha that I liked quite a bit. The
local Maeda En shop closed though, and I don't know anywhere else
			to get it.

- Pouchong/Baozhong
		- Haven't had one in a while, but Ranch 99 used to have a decent
			one in a beige cannister
- Oolong
		- Republic of Tea Keemun Oolong. Very nice. I usually don't
like this brand (too much flavoring or excessive taste), but
			this is a nice tea.
- Foojoy Tung Ting Oolong. Very
nice. Reminds me a lot of a
tea I got from Ten Ren, but that tea gave me a strange sort of
addiction. This one doesn't do that.
- Dunhuang brand China Fujian Oolong. Spectacular scent, and an
OK taste. It's almost worth getting just to sniff it. :)
- Black (Chinese folks call it "Hong Cha" for "Red tea", not to be
		confused with Rooibos)

		- There's a really nice Keemun in a medium-sized brown, cylindrical tin
at Ranch 99, the local Asian grocery. Sadly, I have no idea what
brand it is; it doesn't appear to be in English.

- Pu-Erh
		- Uncooked
			- Holy Mountain Green Pu-erh cake from March 1997. It's nice,
but I think I feel a little funny after drinking it. However,
I've noticed that if I have this in the morning, in the early
afternoon, I start to feel a little off, but when I have my
afternoon Lung Ching, I feel fine. I have to wonder if there's
something missing from this that is present in other teas, that
gives me a slight "tea withdrawl".
- Holy Mountain Green Tibetan Mushroom Pu-erh from 1997. It
tastes nice, but it definitely leaves me feeling quite strangely.

- Cooked
			- Organic Mini Toucha from Yunnan China. Unfortunately, I
didn't jot down the brand. These are good. They -might- make
me feel a little funny. A pretty light taste really, for a
				pu-erh.
- Bold Leaf Pu-Erh. I'm afraid I didn't jot down the brand.
It tastes good, but it makes me feel kind of strange.
Sat Mar 27 12:55:13 PST 2004: My wife and I had some this
morning. We both got a faint headache.
- Nor Sun Pu-Erh. I had a box of this a long time ago. I hated
it. It was my first Pu-Erh. Then I left it in the cabinet for
years and finally tried it again, and enjoyed it quite a bit.
Subsequent boxes haven't been as enjoyable, perhaps because I
didn't age them before drinking. My current box is pretty
decent though, for such a cheap tea.

- Holy Mountain Golden Melon
				Pu-erh from 1999. Reportedly a
good vintage. Tasted nice, very little "strange puerh
				feeling".Mon Mar 29 11:34:24 PST 2004
- Holy Mountain Large Leaf Aged Pu-erh from Old Trees. Tasted
nice, but I got a headache a while after drinking. It wasn't
a really bad one, but it wasn't pleasant either. It could have
been a coincidence. This one has a light taste for a
				pu-erh.
- Holy Mountain 1st Grade Loose-leaf Pu-erh. I had the Holy
Mountain Large Leaf Aged in the morning, and this one in the
afternoon. I didn't notice my headache intensify any after
drinking this one. The taste was nice.

- Holy Mountain Pu-erh Tuocha "Camel Breath". Very nice.
Good pu-erh taste, convenient to brew (they're mini toucha),
and no headache despite having two mugs in one day.
- Specialteas 590 Pu-erh Tuo Cha China. Very nice. No
headachy feeling at all, and good taste. These are mini
				toucha.
