- Agenda plans a VR3, VR3+ and VR5, all running linux as their primary
	OS.

- Agenda has shipped the first batch of developer units. Another batch
is expected to ship in January, 2001.

- Here
	is the official agenda website

- The default distribution runs X, and uses the
	FLTK toolkit but also includes
some of the older, primitive X toolkits like Xt and Xaw. FLTK
purportedly allows easy writing of applications that work on both small
displays (like PDAs) and normal displays (like your desktop linux machine).

- Rumor has it that Agenda's CTO is one of the main guys behind the ports
of linux to microsoft PDA machines

- The expected price of the consumer VR3, $149, is very good when comparing
hardware features with other PDAs. The developer units are $179, and
	loaded with flash memory.

- The machines use "vrwm" as their window manager (?)

- Battery life should be about a month on two AAA's. However there may
be some kinks to work out - particularly suspending the unit but leaving it
connected to the serial cable has a somewhat high power drain

 - The GUI may or may not be released under an opensource license
 - First version runs "W", not X windows. However, the next dev
	version is expected to

	run X and GTK+

- This project uses "W" (or maybe "Microwindows", I'm not certain they've
made a decision yet).

- Costs about $150, actually shipping, but with the old OS. Linux port
isn't ready for end users. Thu Sep 21 10:56:07 PDT 2000

- apparently linux has been ported to this machine in two different ways,
by two different groups - Compaq itself, and Century Software

- PalmPilots, at least some of them, can run linux, but linux will
probably remain secondary to PalmOS on this platform, and unofficial
 - This isn't
really about linux on a palmpilot, but it does relate
to linux and palmpilots

Misc notes
- About "W": Apparently there are two windowing systems called "W".
One is the predecessor to "X", and is not used on PDA's. The other is
a new project, and is used on PDA's.
